The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the CTET 2026 February Notification for Level-1 (Class 1–5) and Level-2 (Class 6–8) exams. The online registration begins 27 November 2025 and closes on 18 December 2025. Eligible candidates may apply online through the official CTET portal.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

For Level-1 (Class 1–5):

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks + either passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or equivalent)
OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% + ETE / Diploma (as per NCTE norms)
OR Senior Secondary + B.El.Ed / Diploma in Special Education / B.EI.Ed (as per norms)

For Level-2 (Class 6–8):

Bachelor’s Degree + passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or equivalent)
OR Graduation with at least 50% + Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) / B.Ed (Special Education) / B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed or related as per NCTE norms

Age Limit: Minimum Age 17 years. No upper age limit.

📝 Exam Pattern 2026

Level-1 (Class 1–5): 150 Questions / 150 Marks — 2.5 Hours
Subjects: Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies

Level-2 (Class 6–8): 150 Questions / 150 Marks — 2.5 Hours
Subjects: Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and either (Mathematics & Science) or (Social Studies) as per chosen stream
