1. 🧭 Introduction

The Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET), formerly known as RTET, is the state-level teacher eligibility test conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan (BSER) and/or the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) for aspirants who wish to become teachers in government schools of Rajasthan. It evaluates candidates’ aptitude and subject knowledge for teaching at the primary (Classes 1–5) and upper-primary (Classes 6–8) levels.
For the 2026 cycle, the exam remains a major gateway for teacher recruitment in Rajasthan’s government schools.

2. ✅ Selection Process

Here’s how the selection process for REET 2026 works:

Notification & Application – The official notification is released, eligibility criteria are announced (educational qualifications, age, etc.).
Eligibility Test (REET) – Candidates appear for either Level-1 (for Classes 1-5) or Level-2 (for Classes 6-8) or both, depending on their teaching interest.
Result & Eligibility Certification – Candidates who score the minimum qualifying marks obtain the REET eligibility certificate which enables them to apply for teaching posts in Rajasthan.
Teacher Recruitment – After REET eligibility, separate recruitment processes (vacancy, merit, document verification) are conducted by the relevant body (RSSB/Department of Education) for appointment.

5. 🏁 Final Selection & Weightage

The REET is an eligibility examination, not a recruitment test by itself — clearing REET means you become eligible to apply for teacher posts. Minimum qualifying marks: Typically 60% for General category, 55% for reserved categories.
For some cycles, there is negative marking (−1/3 mark for each incorrect answer) and each question may carry 2 marks in revised format.
After eligibility, the appointment depends on vacancy notifications, merit list, document verification, etc.

Understand the latest pattern & syllabus clearly — As there are recent changes (300 marks, negative marking) you must study the updated format.
Plan a study schedule dividing by levels — Separate for Level 1 and Level 2 depending on your target.
Use NCERT/State board textbooks for base subject knowledge (Classes 1-8) since difficulty level is around that domain.
Focus on pedagogy & child development — Many aspirants ignore this but lots of MCQs come from teaching methodology, psychology etc.
Time-management & practice mocks — With 150 Qs in 150 mins (or more marks version), you must stay efficient. Also practise negative marking scenario (if applicable).
Revision of languages — For both Language I & II, revise grammar, comprehension, teaching methodology.
Subject knowledge (Maths/Science/Social Science) — If you opt for subject knowledge section, make sure you cover class 6-8 subject curriculum thoroughly.
